Who we are

HTC Haarlemse Taxicentrale is a trading name of Taksim, registered at Bernadottelaan 122, 2037 GV Haarlem, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 85905828. Our taxi centre is at Stationsplein 116, 2011 LN Haarlem.

We are responsible for what happens to your personal data. If you have a question about your data, you can call or email us:

What data we receive

When you book a ride:

• your name, phone number and email address;
• the pick-up and drop-off addresses, with street, house number and postcode;
• the date and time of the ride, and of the return ride if you book one;
• the number of passengers, suitcases and child seats, and the vehicle you choose;
• your flight number, if we pick you up from an airport;
• anything you write in the comments box.

When you use the contact form: your name, email address, phone number, the subject and your message.

When you request a quote: your email address and phone number, where you want to be picked up and where you are going, the date and time, the number of passengers and your comments.

We do not ask about your health. In the comments box, please only write what we need to know for the ride.

Your IP address: our server uses it to count how often a form is sent from one address, so that nobody can misuse the forms. This happens in the server's working memory; your IP address is not stored for it.

What we use it for

• To plan, confirm and carry out your ride, and to reach you if anything changes, for example if your flight is delayed. We do this to perform our agreement with you.
• To answer your question or quote request. We do this because you ask us to.
• To calculate the fare and suggest addresses as you type. This is also part of your request.
• To prevent misuse of the forms. This is our legitimate interest: without that limit, someone could send thousands of emails through us.
• For our accounts, for rides we have carried out. This is a legal obligation.

We do not send you newsletters or advertising, and we do not sell your data.

Who else sees your data

The driver who carries out your ride receives what they need for it: your name, phone number, the addresses, the time and, if relevant, your flight number.

We also use a few services that do part of the work for us. Each of them receives only what it needs for its part:

• Vercel: hosts this website, including the forms. Like any web server, Vercel sees your IP address when you open a page.
• Resend: sends this site's emails, that is, the notice of your request to us and the confirmation to you.
• Google: we put a confirmed ride in our Google Calendar, and the site's notices arrive in a Gmail inbox as well as in our own. To suggest addresses and calculate the fare, our server asks Google Maps for addresses and the route; only the address text is sent, not your name or phone number.
• The OSRM routing service (OpenStreetMap): to calculate the distance, it receives only the coordinates of the pick-up and drop-off points, nothing else.
• Our email provider, which hosts our inbox info@htc-taxi.nl.
• Upstash: keeps a copy of your booking, so that we can look it up later by its reference number.

Your browser only talks to our own server. The lookups at Google are made from our server, so Google does not see your IP address when this happens.

Vercel, Resend and Google are American companies. As a result, your data may also be processed outside the European Union.

We do not pass your data on to anyone else, unless the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep requests, messages and bookings for as long as we need them for the ride and its handling, and after that for no more than two years.

What we need for our accounts from a ride we have carried out is kept for seven years, as Dutch tax law requires.

The IP address in the counter against misuse only counts the last fifteen minutes and is not stored.

How we protect it

The site only uses an encrypted connection (https). The forms send your data only to our own server, and the keys we use for Google and the other services are kept on that server alone, never in your browser.

Your rights

You may ask us:

• what data we hold about you (access);
• to correct data that is wrong (rectification);
• to delete your data, unless we are required to keep it (erasure);
• to use your data less (restriction);
• to give your data to you or to another company (portability).

You can also object to the use of your data on the grounds of our legitimate interest.

Send your request to info@htc-taxi.nl or give us a call. We will reply within one month. We may first ask you to confirm who you are, so that we do not give your data to someone else.

If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. We would appreciate hearing from you first, though.

If we start doing something different with your data, we will update this page. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
