The same waiting rate applies to both: €59.41 per hour, and only if you agree to it in advance.
On a long ride
If the ride is longer than 30 kilometres, we take 15% off the metered fare. For airport rides our fixed fare applies in any case, and it is almost always cheaper than the meter.

What else applies to a metered ride
Three rules set by the government, which we follow.
Delays during the ride
The cost of a delay during the ride is shared fairly between the taxi company and the customer. So if you get stuck in traffic, you pay more; if the ride goes very quickly, you pay less.
Waiting rate
The driver may charge a waiting rate if you agreed to it before the ride began — for example, when the driver has to wait because your meeting runs over. The waiting rate is €59.41 per hour.
Comparing fares
The fares are shown on a fare card stuck to one of the taxi’s windows. The card must be easy to read from both inside and outside, so you can compare what different taxis cost.
Prefer to know the price upfront?
A taxi driver may offer you a fixed fare, and it has to be agreed before the ride begins. For Schiphol, Rotterdam and Eindhoven we always do that: book at least 24 hours ahead and the price is fixed — even if there is traffic or your flight is delayed.

How is the metered fare worked out?
The meter adds up three things: a starting fare of €4.31, €3.17 per kilometre and €0.52 per minute, for a taxi with up to four passengers. A 7-kilometre ride that takes 15 minutes therefore costs €34.30.
What does the meter charge for a minibus?
For five to eight passengers the starting fare is €8.77, with €4.00 per kilometre and €0.59 per minute.
Does HTC charge more than the legal maximum?
No. Every year the Dutch government sets the maximum a taxi may charge, and we never go above it.
What does it cost if the driver has to wait?
The waiting rate is €59.41 per hour, for both taxi and minibus. It only applies if you agree to it in advance — for example, when your meeting runs over.
Do I pay more if the taxi gets stuck in traffic?
On a metered ride, yes: the cost of a delay is shared fairly between the taxi company and the customer. Not on an airport ride — book at least 24 hours ahead and the price is fixed.
Is there a discount on the metered fare for a long ride?
Yes. If the ride is longer than 30 kilometres, we take 15% off the metered fare. The discount does not apply to the fixed airport fares.
